Where have I been? Your mother’s house. Kidding…ehhh.

This is what 2010 sounds like. I hope. The nu-disco sound has been popular with summer-loving DJs for a couple years, but the real breakthrough came with last year’s breakout Duck Sauce. Composed of electro legend Armand Van Helden and superstar DJ A-Trak, their single aNYthing took over club speakers everywhere. The levee broke.

That brings us to now. And Breakbot. He’s been making smooth disco-ish tracks since before Duck Sauce, but the newest from Breakbot is something even more than he’s done before. It’s always been all about sun, fun, beaches, and smooth grooves with this Parisian. The newest, however, is smoother and more infectious than the records we’ve heard before. In contrast with his Ed Banger label-mates Justice, the Breakbot sound is sunnier and more likened to pool parties than the hard sounds of Justice. The two may soon have something in common, however. 2008 could be called the year of Justice with their tracks being played on every dance floor in the western world. 2010 could be the year of Breakbot. With tracks like this, I have few doubts.
