Mission Creek Headliners, Magnetic Fields Announce New Album

Magnetic Fields just announced the release of their latest effort, Love at the Bottom of the Sea. Their tenth studio album is scheduled to drop on March 6th, just a few weeks before their Mission Creek Fest debut at the Englert on March 28th. Stephin Merritt, the songwriter and driving force behind Magnetic Fields has been steadily putting out solid records under that name for over two decades now.  After a three album abandonment of their once-defining synth sound, Love at the Bottom of the Sea promises to revive some of this synth aesthetic with new technology (see previous two posts for more on that). So pick up the album when it comes out. Get acquainted. Be prepared. The band is only stopping at a handful of major cities in the U.S., so this show is really going to be a treat.
